Free HIV/STD Testing

Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans living with HIV doesn’t know it? The CDC recommends everyone get tested for HIV/AIDS each year as a matter of routine health care. Know your status-get yourself tested!

Did you know that 1 in 2 sexually active young people will get an STD by the age of 25? The good news-all are treatable and many are curable. But you need to know your status so get yourself tested!

Now is your opportunity to get tested and know your status for FREE. Student Health Services is sponsoring Free HIV/STD testing on the first Thursday of each month beginning on Thursday Sept. 6th. Testing will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Campus Center, CE 148.

Testing is free, safe and confidential.

No appointment necessary. The testing is conducted by the Bellflower Clinic and the Damien Center. Tests offered include a HIV and Syphilis blood draw, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and a rapid HIV test (oral swab). Testing dates during the Fall 2012 semester are Sept. 6th, Oct. 4th, Nov. 1st, and Dec. 6th.

Campus Center Student Health is here to help. We have a Nurse Practitioner available who can take care of most acute illnesses and injuries. We are located in the Campus Center on the 2nd floor in CE 213.

Quit Day

Do you want to quit smoking? Do you need suggestions on how to quit smoking or quit chewing tobacco?  Want to help a family member or friend quit? Need a list of smoking cessation resources?

All of this information can be picked up at the Quit Day information tables. Quit Day Tables are held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Campus Center on the last Wednesday of each month beginning this Wednesday August 29^th.

JagPerks Fair

Come check out the Student Health Services table at the JagPerks Fair on Wednesday August 22nd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Taylor Courtyard. We will be giving out some freebies and great information regarding your health and wellness!

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back Students.

It is the beginning of a new academic year. And a perfect time to get a free wellness screening done at Campus Center Student Health in CE 213. Screenings include height/weight, blood pressure, bmi, cholesterol and glucose levels. Fasting at least 10 hours is required prior to the test. Screenings are held Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Call (317) 274-WELL for more information.

Are you sick? Don't want to miss any classes? Visit the Nurse Practitioner in Campus Center Student Health to start feeling better. We also do physical examinations and women's health examinations. The office visit fee is only $29 ($0 for those with Aetna Insurance). Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Call (317) 274-2274 to make an appointment.
